Privacy Policy

Bubi knows things about you that you would never tell an ordinary website - that you are expecting, when you are due, how your baby sleeps. This page says what we do with that. No legal padding, and nothing made up to make it sound better.

If you read nothing else

  • We do not sell your data to anyone and we do not build advertising profiles.
  • We neither record nor transcribe a consultation video call - nothing is left of it afterwards. A live webinar is always recorded, but the recording shows and hears only the specialist, not you.
  • We only use information about your health if you have given us consent for it. You can take that back at any time.
  • We do not use the content of your consultations to train artificial intelligence.
  • Want your data deleted? Write to us and we will do it.

Who we are

Bubi is operated by asm studio s. r. o., registered at Pod Huru 377/12, 082 71 Krivany, company number 56646321. That company is the controller of your personal data - it means we decide what happens to it and we are answerable for it. Write to us at ahoj@bubi.baby; we answer questions about your data within a month at the latest, usually much sooner.

There is one important exception to that β€œwe decide”, and it is set out below: with the content of a consultation, it is the specialist who decides, not us.

What we know about you, and why

Not all of it at once, and not the same for everyone. It depends on what you do on Bubi.

WhatWhy we need itOn what basis
AccountYour email address and name, plus a phone number and photo if you add them. Language and country.Without an account we cannot sign you in, send you a booking confirmation or show you your plan.Performance of a contract - without this data we cannot provide the service at all.
Information about your healthThe stage you are in, whether you are expecting, your due date, your week of pregnancy and the ages of your children. This is what your plan and your recommendations are built from. Without it we can only show you general content.Your explicit consent. We ask for it separately in the intro questionnaire and it can be taken back.
Bookings and paymentsWho your consultation is with and when, what it cost, the status of the payment.Without it we cannot confirm a booking, bill for it or refund it.Performance of a contract; accounting records are required by law on top of that.
Written conversation with a specialistMessages and attachments in the consultation thread. It is how you and the specialist sort things out between calls. Here the controller is not us but the specialist - see below.
Conversations with Bubi AIThe questions you type and the answers you get back.We store them so that you can come back to a conversation and so that it follows on.Performance of a contract. If you mention health in a question, it is stored as part of the conversation - the consent from the intro questionnaire does not cover this; that one is only for your plan and recommendations. You can delete a conversation at any time.
DiscussionsThreads and comments you publish.Discussions are public - that is the whole point of them.Performance of a contract. What you publish is visible to others - but it is still your personal data, and the rights below still apply to it.
How you use the siteThat an article was shown, that you clicked on a product. No name attached - only a technical fingerprint that changes every day.We want to know which articles help and which do not.Our legitimate interest in knowing whether anyone reads our content. We do not build an advertising profile from it.

Health data - why we ask for it separately

The fact that you are pregnant, or when you are due, counts in law as data about your health. That is protected more strictly than a name or an email address: it is not enough that we need it to run the service. You have to give us explicit consent for it.

That is why the intro questionnaire has a step of its own where we ask you - and why that step can be skipped. If you do not consent, Bubi carries on working: articles, discussions, the advice hub and bookings all stay. The only thing you will not get is a plan made for you, because it cannot be put together without that information.

You can withdraw your consent at any time: go through the intro questionnaire again and leave the box unticked - we then delete your due date, your week of pregnancy and the records about your children. Or write to us and we will do it for you.

Consultations: who is responsible for what

This is the one place where we are not the ones deciding. Bubi is not a healthcare provider and plays no part in the content of a consultation - the specialist works independently, and what is said and written between the two of you is their responsibility. We provide the room, the thread and the storage.

The consultation video call itself is neither recorded nor transcribed. Nothing is left of it afterwards - no recording, no transcript. All that remains is the fact that the consultation took place, with whom and when, because without that it could not be billed. (Webinars are different: they are recorded and the recording can be bought. A recording shows and hears the specialist, not the attendees.)

We keep the written conversation in the thread so that you can both go back to it. Photos and files you exchange there are deleted automatically after 90 days - the text of the messages stays.

Our administrators do not look into the content of consultations.

Who we pass your data on to

We never sell them. We pass them only to those without whom Bubi would not work - and only as far as their job needs. With suppliers who process data for us we have data processing agreements in place. With your specialist it is the other way round: for the content of a consultation they are the controller and we act for them.

  • To our database, hosting and storage providers - that is where Bubi technically runs.
  • To our email delivery provider - booking confirmations and reminders.
  • Our AI provider - the text of your question plus a short derived note about your stage (your week of pregnancy, say, or the age of your youngest child) so the answer fits your situation. We do not send it your children's names. It does not store your question permanently and does not train on it.
  • To the specialist you have booked - your name and whatever you write to them.
  • Content delivery networks (CDNs) - some scripts and animations are loaded from them. They only receive your IP address and technical details about your browser, nothing more.
  • Public registers - when we verify a partner's company details we send their company number to business and tax registers (ARES in Czechia, the Register of Legal Entities and the Register of Financial Statements in Slovakia, and the European Commission's VIES). This concerns partner shops and specialists, not users.
  • Attraction operators - on the Where to go with kids page some photos load straight from their own websites, so their servers see your IP address. We do not send them anything about you ourselves.
  • To our accountants and, where there is good reason, our lawyers.
  • To the authorities, when the law requires it of us.

We name three services, because you will see them with your own eyes:

  • Stripe

When you pay, we send you over to Stripe's own page. Your card number never reaches us - we only see whether the payment went through.

  • Google

Only if you choose to sign in with Google. Otherwise Google is never loaded on Bubi at all.

  • Daily

Runs the video calls for consultations and webinars. We have the call server set to Frankfurt.

Data outside the European Union

Our database and hosting are set to servers in the European Union - in Ireland. Some of our suppliers, though, are companies based outside the EU, mainly in the United States and in Singapore, and their technical support reaches the systems from there.

For those transfers we have standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission in place; some of the suppliers are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework as well. If you want to know about a particular supplier, write to us and we will tell you.

Attachments in a consultation thread90 days, then deleted automatically
Written conversation in the threadas long as you have an account - we do not delete it automatically

Accounting records of paymentsfor as long as the law requires

Anonymous posts in discussions

When you publish a thread or a comment anonymously, none of the other users sees your name. But we want you to know the other half of it too: in our database the post stays linked to your account. We do that so that we can act on reported content and so that you can delete your own post. So it is not complete anonymity - it is anonymity towards the other readers.

What you can do about it

It is your data, not ours. At any time you have the right to:

  • find out what we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • get your data in a machine-readable form and have it moved somewhere else
  • have anything that is wrong corrected
  • have your data deleted
  • take back consent you have given us
  • object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interest
  • ask us to restrict the processing

Some things you can change yourself in your account settings. For the rest - including deleting your account - write to us at ahoj@bubi.baby. We will answer within a month at the latest. We will not ask you to prove anything beyond what we need to be sure that it is really you writing.

If you feel we are handling your data badly, tell us - and if we do not put it right, you have the right to go to a supervisory authority. Bubi operates in Slovakia and in Czechia, so that means the Slovak data protection authority (Úrad na ochranu osobnΓ½ch ΓΊdajov SR) or the Czech one (ΓšΕ™ad pro ochranu osobnΓch ΓΊdajΕ―).

Does a machine decide anything?

No. Your plan and your recommendations are put together automatically from what you have told us - but that is a selection of content, not a decision about you. Nothing with legal effects, or anything that would affect you similarly significantly, is decided here by automation.

When this changes

Bubi keeps growing and this text will change along with it. The date of the last update is at the top. If it is a change that genuinely affects you - a new purpose for processing, say - we will tell you directly, not by quietly editing the page.

Not clear? Write to us

If something here is written so that it cannot be understood, that is our fault and we want to know about it. ahoj@bubi.baby
